Warehouse Clubs

Madame Deals shares her thoughts on whether or not warehouse clubs are worth the membership fee.

My family has a membership with Sam’s Club and for us it’s worth the fee.  You do have to watch the unit prices, though.  Some items are more expensive than the grocery store.  I typically buy milk, newspapers, gas, and some produce and meat at Sam’s Club – all items that are usually cheaper than grocery stores and rarely have coupons available.

Do you shop at warehouse clubs?

Chasing Deals

Penny Pinchin’ Mom has a great post about chasing deals.

I was a deal chaser when I first started couponing.  Now I can go a month or 2 without stepping inside a Walgreens or CVS.  I guess that’s a sign that I have a good stockpile!  So, if you miss a deal, don’t worry about it!  I guarantee that it will cycle back around.

Color Combo No-No’s

Are there any color combos that you refuse to wear?  For me, it’s black and navy blue.  I’ve seen it done well (here is my favorite), but I just can’t seem to get past my issues.

Sal at Already Pretty shows you how to make difficult color combos work.  Brown and black, black and navy, pink and red, red and green, navy and brown.  All are do-able according to Sal.

What do you think?  Are there color combos you avoid?

Making Your Own Coupon Match-Ups

Dealicious Finds has a great video discussing how to make your own coupon match-ups.  She also has a coupon database available on her website.  I also use the free database at Coupon Mom.

Sometimes I’m looking for a product that I need, but isn’t listed in the weekly ad.  I can go to one of the coupon databases and search for that product.

There is typically a blogger out there who makes a coupon match-up list for most stores.  You just have to search for them.  I have a list of my favorites here, and Dealicious Finds also has a helpful nationwide list here.  You can also just type the store name and coupon match-up into Google.

Happy Couponing!

Closet Orphans

Sal at Already Pretty has another great post on dealing with your closet orphans – aka those items that don’t really go with anything else in your closet, but you hold on to them anyway.

I’m guilty of this.  I find something super cute at a great price – then I get it home and have no idea what to wear it with.  I’ve also been known to toss these ‘orphans’ in the donate pile, only to rescue them later because I know there has to be something I can wear them with!  They are just too cool to let go.
