Bread Machine Oat Rolls

This is a recipe that my mom makes from scratch, but I cheat and use the bread machine. These are so yummy!

Bread Machine Oat Rolls

2 cups water
1 cup quick-cooking oats
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 package bread machine yeast
1/3 cup warm water (110-115 degrees)
1 tablespoon sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/3 cup brown sugar
4 3/4 – 5 1/4 cups flour

In a saucepan, bring water to a boil; add oats and butter. Cook and stir for one minute. Remove from heat. and let cool to lukewarm.

Add warm water and oat mixture to bread machine pan. Then add the dry ingredients. Make a well in the top and add the yeast.

Select the dough setting. You might have to add more flour or water during the mixing stage. The dough should form a ball that is not sticky, but not too dry. I usually use 5 cups of flour and the texture is just right.
After the dough setting is complete, shape into rolls and let rise until doubled – approximately 45 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until golden. Spray the tops with melted butter. Enjoy!
