I made it all by myself – Slow Cooker Orange Chicken

Here is the first of five recipe tests that I promised last week.  This week I made Slow Cooker Orange Chicken from A Year of Slow Cooking.  Go HERE for the recipe.

I hate cutting up raw chicken, but I did it…just for you!  If my husband had not been napping, I probably would have whined until he took over the task of cutting, but I just couldn’t bring myself to wake him.  Instead, I listened to Christina Aguilera convince me that I’m a super girl, and I touched the raw chicken.  I survived.

The hardest part of this recipe is cutting and browning the chicken.  The rest of the recipe couldn’t be simpler.  The result was a little bitter for my taste, but not too bad.  Next time (yes, I will make it again) I’ll add a little more brown sugar and a little less balsamic vinegar.  I might also try using chicken tenders to avoid handling a knife and to simplify it even more.  If you try this recipe, let me know what you think!

Happy Cooking!
