Tip of the Day 4/19/10

Don’t always assume warehouse clubs have the best prices!

I used to think that just because I was buying in bulk meant that I was automatically getting a deal. Now I know to ALWAYS calculate the price per unit.

For example, yesterday my local warehouse club wanted $1.44 for 3lbs of bananas (48 cents per pound) and I couldn’t believe people were buying them! I regularly buy bananas at my grocery store for 39 cents per pound or less. Okay, so that’s not a huge difference, but enough for me to notice 🙂

Learn your stock-up price for your favorite items and stick to it. And always carry a calculator 🙂
