Tip of the Day 4/26/10

Switch to CFL light bulbs.

CFL light bulbs should only be turned off if you plan on leaving the room for more than 15 minutes. Otherwise, they use more electricity. Incandescent bulbs should always be turned off when you leave the room.

From Energy Star:

An ENERGY STAR qualified compact fluorescent light bulb (CFL) will save about $30 over its lifetime and pay for itself in about 6 months. It uses 75 percent less energy and lasts about 10 times longer than an incandescent bulb.
